A fisted grasp
2014/2024
Wall calendar, digital prints on paperMaking do with whatever is at hand – including found objects, sand, rubber, cotton wool, clay blocks, concrete casts of household items and edibles, as well as debris from the casting process, childproof padding, and emergency blankets – I create a series of wall and spatial drawings. The documentation of spatial bricolage, originating in the 2010s, is now overlaid with the first crayon and marker strokes of one of my dearest loved ones, two-year-old Foivos. The drawings are compiled into a wall calendar that extends the inflicted harms of the Israeli government’s genocidal war in Gaza over the past year into 2025, accompanied by the prompt: “Tear down the walls”.
