A series of crime scenes and cases guide archival research into the operations of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund and Treuhandanstalt, all brought together into a common setting. The scenes feature, among others, Peter Lorre as Hans Beckert and the Rentzaioi brothers executing the first bank money transfer robbery in Greece.
